Reg. Charity.No.328237

Canine Concern was founded by Eve Waring in Somerset in the early 80's. Dedicated to understanding the therapeutic benefits of pets in hospitals and to residents that have to give up a beloved pet when moving into residential/nursing homes.

Canine Concern
now has hundreds of dogs all over the country. When people started to say "I love dogs, but prefer cats", the feline side of the charity was born starting with a Siamese cat and then Elphin, belonging to Jayne Wood of Blitzkreig Devons.

As Jayne was experienced with charities and working with the sick and elderly, she was asked by Eve in 1997 if she could take over and co-ordinate the cat side.

"The visits are very rewarding. Elphin is treated like a superstar which he can't get enough of. I can see changes in people over the weeks."

Due to Comfort Cats having to be of excellent temperament, spayed/neutered, not minding a harness and lead and travelling, there are only a dozen in the country.

If anyone has 1/2 to 1 hour to spare once a week, has a suitable cat, or to take another's cat, or would just like to help out it would be very much appreciated.
